About Matyó embroidery:
In the late 1800s Matyó embroidery was a thriving form of folk art in Hungary. Matyó is a densely-patterned style of free-hand work embroidery in bright floral motifs. There are many varieties of floral embroidery techniques and is easily recognized by the vibrant color palettes used. Matyó folk costumes use simple linen embroidery and each color has its own meaning. By the turn of the 20th century the saying “let the stomach growl but the costume shine” became popular to describe the Matyó people who were determined to be well dressed in poverty. This design pays homage to this traditional folk art style with a contemporary flair.
This extra-cute, extra-small printed paper tape is perfect for any time you’d use regular thin tape, only cuter! Use it in planners, journals, scrapbooking, or decorating mail. Easily peels off and leaves minimal residue on most surfaces. A perfect gift for the stationery lover in your life - or you!
